U.P. Motorcycle Week

Poker Run's, Ride-Ins and Bike Shows are taking place all across Michigan's Upper Peninsula this summer. Still there are times when you just want to get on your bike and just ride.  This is what Upper Michigan Motorcycle Week is all about.   It's a time to pack up your saddle bags, gather up all your rowdy friends and ride north to a place known my many simply as da U.P.

Of course, riding across the U.P. only makes sense if you take the time to enjoy its Side Rides.  These are rides that take you off the main interconnecting Highways US-2 and M-28 to small coastal towns like Copper Harbor and  Grand Marais.

The view of Lake Superior from Brockway Mountain is nothing short of spectacular.  From Houghton to Calumet to Copper Harbor, it's one great scenic ride up the Keweenaw Peninsula.

Too many bikers ride past Highway 183.  It's newly paved road that takes you down to the historical ghost town of Fayette, MI.   It's crystal blue water harbor surrounded by bleached white limestone cliffs will stick with you and bring you back again.

If you've never been to the Porcupine Mountains and seen the falls on the Presque Isle River or stood looking down at the Lake Of The Clouds, it's something you don't want to miss if you're in the Western U.P.

Ride the Curley Lewis Memorial Highway from Sault Ste. Marie to Paradise along the lakeshore and enjoy a ride many visiting bikers don't realize is there.

Pentoga Trail

Michigan's Upper Peninsula isn't know for its dramatic motorcycling roads, but that doesn't mean there aren't roads you'd wish would never end.  The Pentoga Trail located between Crystal Falls and Iron River is such a ride.  The road curls through a tunnel of trees and over rolling hills.  Take your time, enjoy the ride, but watch for the kids as you ride past the lake resorts.

Now if just riding isn't enough, then consider riding the Yooper Cannonball.  Oh, don't forget to bring along your biker discount card.  Over sixty businesses all around the U.P. now accept the card providing discounts on lodging, food and a variety of products and services all across the U.P.

If you have any questions or are looking for some suggestions on routes, please don't hesitate to contact us.
